The SOUTHWIRE/COLEMAN CABLE 59407WD is an indoor plug-in light control with a built-in photocell sensor that automates lamp and small appliance switching based on ambient light levels. The unit energizes connected devices at dusk and de-energizes them at dawn, eliminating the need for manual switching or timer programming. Installation requires no hardwiring the control plugs directly into a standard wall outlet. Licensed electricians and knowledgeable DIYers typically deploy this device in residential settings to manage interior lighting schedules.

This light control is suited for residential indoor use with table lamps, electric candles, white noise machines, and other small plug-in appliances. The dusk-to-dawn photocell operation is well-suited for occupied and unoccupied home applications where consistent automated lighting is needed. The plug-in design allows for fast repositioning between outlets without any tools or rewiring. It is compatible with incandescent fixtures and similarly rated plug-in loads.
