Description
The Hayward Strainer Housing with Basket (SPX1500CAP) is the OEM replacement strainer housing assembly for the PowerFlo LX above-ground pool pump line.
This assembly houses the pump’s pre-filter strainer basket, providing the sealed chamber that captures debris before water reaches the impeller. Replacing a cracked, leaking, or damaged strainer housing restores a proper pressure seal and keeps the pump running efficiently.

Before installing the new strainer housing, inspect the housing O-ring or lid gasket for wear and replace it if needed a compromised seal will cause air leaks even with a new housing in place. Prime the pump fully before restarting to avoid running the impeller dry.
