Description
Roborock Q8 Max+ Robot Vacuum and Mop with Auto-Empty Dock
Overview
The Roborock Q8 Max+ is a robot vacuum and mop for people who want strong everyday cleaning without emptying a dustbin every few days. It pairs 5,500 Pa HyperForce suction with Roborock’s DuoRoller Brush – two counter-rotating rubber rollers that resist hair tangling – and docks into an Auto-Empty Dock that pulls debris into a 2.5 L E12-rated dust bag, good for up to 7 weeks of cleaning between changes.
PreciSense LiDAR maps your home quickly and accurately, Reactive Tech obstacle avoidance works around objects left on the floor, and the electric water tank mops with 30 water flow levels while the robot vacuums in the same pass. A 5200 mAh battery runs up to 4 hours non-stop, enough to finish large homes in one session.
In the Roborock lineup, the Q8 Max+ is the “+” version of the Q8 Max: the robot is the same, and the auto-empty dock is what you gain. It sits in the middle of the Q series – above the single-roller Q7 family, below the self-washing Qrevo line.

Key Features
- DuoRoller Brush: Two counter-rotating rubber rollers grip debris and pass hair straight through instead of wrapping it, cutting brush maintenance in homes with long hair and shedding pets.
- 5,500 Pa HyperForce Suction: Enough power to pull embedded dust from carpet pile and grit from hard-floor gaps, with Carpet Boost automatically raising suction when the robot detects carpet.
- Auto-Empty Dock: After each cleanup the dock empties the robot into a 2.5 L E12-rated dust bag that traps fine dust and holds up to 7 weeks of debris before it needs a change.
- Simultaneous Vacuum and Mop: The electric water tank meters water across 30 flow levels while the robot vacuums, and a dedicated hard-floor mode cleans along the direction of wood seams.
- PreciSense LiDAR Navigation: Fast, accurate mapping with logical room division, custom no-go zones, room-specific cleaning, and cleaning routines in the Roborock app.
- Reactive Tech Obstacle Avoidance: Detects objects left on the floor and works around them, so cleanups finish instead of stalling on a stray shoe.
- Up to 4 Hours of Runtime: The 5200 mAh battery covers large homes in one session, with off-peak charging to recharge when electricity is cheapest.
- Household-Friendly Controls: Child lock prevents accidental starts, and third-party voice assistant support lets you launch cleanups by voice.
Applications
The Q8 Max+ suits busy households – especially with pets or long-haired family members – that want a set-and-forget vacuum for carpet, hardwood, and tile, plus light mopping to keep hard floors dust-free between deep cleans. The 4-hour runtime and 7 weeks of hands-free dust handling make it practical for larger single-level homes, and the low-maintenance DuoRoller Brush means less time cutting hair off a roller.
Within the Roborock lineup, the same robot without the auto-empty dock sells as the Q8 Max. If you only need vacuuming, the Q5 Max+ keeps the DuoRoller Brush and auto-empty dock at a lower price, while the newer Q10 S5+ represents the next generation of Roborock’s Q-series vacuum-and-mop with auto-empty dock.
Setup and Getting Started
- Unbox and remove protectors: Take out the robot and dock, and remove all protective strips, foam, and film from the robot, sensors, and dock.
- Place the dock: Set the Auto-Empty Dock on a hard, level floor against a wall near an outlet, leaving open space in front and to each side so the robot can line up and dock.
- Charge: Dock the robot and let it charge fully before the first run.
- Pair in the Roborock app: Download the Roborock app and connect the robot over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (5 GHz is not supported).
- Run the first mapping cleanup: Let the robot complete a full pass so PreciSense LiDAR can build the map and divide rooms.
- Customize: Set schedules, no-go zones, and room routines; attach the electric water tank and mop cloth whenever you want to vacuum and mop in one pass.
