Description
The TP-LINK USA CORPORATION INSIGHT S485(2.8MM) is an 8-megapixel full-color turret-style IP dome camera designed for continuous color imaging in low-light and standard-light conditions. Built around a 2.8mm fixed lens, it delivers wide-angle coverage suitable for indoor and outdoor surveillance installations. The turret form factor allows the camera body to pivot independently of its mounting base, making it straightforward to aim after installation. Security integrators, low-voltage technicians, and commercial electricians are the typical trades that specify and install this class of camera.
This camera fits residential and light-commercial IP video surveillance systems where full-color night visibility is a priority over traditional infrared black-and-white imaging. The 2.8mm lens angle makes it well suited for room coverage, entryways, lobbies, and perimeter monitoring at shorter distances. It is sold and managed as a single unit and falls within the IP dome camera product category.

Installation Notes
Installation is typically performed by a licensed low-voltage technician or security integrator familiar with IP camera systems and structured cabling. Power down or de-energize the network switch or PoE injector feeding the camera run before making terminations. Follow local low-voltage and telecommunications codes, including NEC Article 725, when routing and terminating camera cabling. Do not force the turret body rotation beyond its mechanical range of motion during aiming.
